Costa Rica was a dream trip for our family

Costa Rica was a dream trip for our family. We had always wanted to visit and finally had the chance in February and we loved all the adventures that the beautiful country offers!

We flew from Los Angeles to Liberia Guanacaste Airport and got settled before driving to Manuel Antonio. With two young kids having a rental car really helped us manage all our luggage, strollers and car seats.

In Manuel Antonio we took in the gorgeous nature walking in a rain forest, the national park and our guide even helped us take some really cool photos of monkeys and sloths! Seeing wildlife up close and personal in Costa Rica was one of the coolest travel experiences that we’ve had.

Whenever you travel there is always a grace period when you’re adjusting to a new place and culture. The people in Costa Rica were very kind and welcoming. We also loved the food, practicing our Spanish daily in conversations, and doing day trips from each of our locations was so fun.

Our next step was La Fortuna and seeing the Arenal Volcano in-person was incredible!

We enjoyed seeing a different side of Costa Rica in La Fortuna and driving through the windy roads with beautiful trees and mountains made every moment of our road trip legendary.

We even visited Tabacon Hot Springs for an afternoon of relaxation in La Fortuna and we’d definitely recommend a visit.

The last stop of our journey was the breathtaking Playa Flamingo for some more beachside relaxation. Along the journey from La Fortuna to Playa Flamingo we stopped to see the Rio Celeste (Blue River) and it was so unique!

Playa Flamingo was the perfect last stop on our trip because we loved the calming beach and delicious cuisine in the area! We enjoyed the balance of the trip between the three locations - Manuel Antonio, La Fortuna and Playa Flamingo - where we were able to take in different geographical and cultural experiences within Costa Rica.

Traveling to Costa Rica was a dream trip for our family. We loved our first experience visiting Manuel Antonio, La Fortuna and Playa Flamingo. We are already talking about bringing our extended family to Costa Rica next!

Pura Vida!
